Environmental Assessment Success for Waterway Development
Since 2022, we have served as the prime for a commercial warehouse development near a sensitive waterway, leading environmental compliance and permitting under USACE Section 408. As prime, we prepared and submitted an Environmental Assessment for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Section 408 process, ensuring full alignment with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and keeping the project on track for permitting and construction.
The project’s proximity to a sensitive waterway and federal infrastructure introduced significant regulatory complexities. To address these, we consolidated multiple environmental reports, evaluated project alternatives, and synthesized findings into a single, streamlined Environmental Assessment. This comprehensive approach simplified the USACE review process and reduced the risk of permitting delays.
Our technical strategy focused on efficiency and impact reduction. Through detailed alternatives analysis, we identified solutions that minimized environmental impacts while satisfying federal, state, and local requirements. This proactive stance reduced the likelihood of costly redesigns and positioned the project for timely approval.
Collaboration was key to success. By maintaining ongoing communication with both the client and USACE, we ensured project documentation and responses were precise, consistent, and aligned with agency expectations. The result was an accepted Environmental Assessment that not only cleared regulatory hurdles but also delivered measurable value, with an estimated ROI of 100–150%.
